September 11, 2014

What a phenomenal group of students you have been this week.  The 7 Stage of Civilization notes were tough, but you all showed great patience and intelligence with you dialog (discussion).

Today is the 13th anniversary of a very significant day in American history.  The U.S. was attacked by terrorists.  I know this was before most of you were born, but for people just 11 years older than you, this was a very significant day, a day that is people often remember where they were and what they were feeling as planes crashed into the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon.  Events like this shape history, and it is important that we learn lessons not as to what happened, but why it happened.

If you were to look at yesterday's notes and discuss the invasion section, you might feel that 9/11 was surely a sign of invasion.

Today, we are going to take what you know, and apply it to the history of Rome.  I will ask that you keep the Stages of Civilization fresh in your mind, and be ready to compare.

Your first assignment today is to click on the PBL link on my web page.  Read through it, and we will have a question and answer session.

Next, I we will learn how Rome grew from a city to an empire.  Be ready for a quiz either today or Friday.
Read through this page and add to your notes.

As always, go out and bless two people with your kindness.

Mr. A.
