Welcome back. I hope you all enjoyed your Veterans Day off. If you don't know. Veterans' Day is a day to honor all Americans who served in the military. Serving in the military is a great sacrifice for the freedoms you enjoy today. When you stop and think about going to school, playing with friends, choosing your career, and many other freedoms, remember that members of the military sacrifice much to ensure we all enjoy those freedoms.
Did you ever stop to consider how or why things were invented? Sure it is easy to see why ideas are improved upon when it is something you can see, touch, or play with. But what about ideas like algebra? Most 7th graders ask why do we have to learn algebra, but few ask where the idea came from. Well over the next few days you will learn about algebra and other great ideas and inventions that came from Muslims.
Today we start by reading pages 94 to 98 in your text. Then we move on to Google Classroom for an assignment that will be due at the end of class on Tuesday. Your goal is to find out more about Muslim achievements.
On an essay note, I am grading your "Why did Islam Spread" essays, but please be patient. I am having eye trouble and this is limiting my screen time. Also please turn it in on Classroom if you hav not done so.
